There were several competitions happening in 2011 and other cool stuff to look out for at buildings such as exhibitions, talks and tours by leading architects.

Additionally, as part of our programme on the Lea Valley, we were proud to present a special talk, sponsored by fashion designer Margaret Howell to reflect her interest in the built and natural environment

The Lea Valley is a mix of ancient marshland, metropolitan infrastructure and changing
industrial landscapes. William Mann (Witherford Watson Mann Architects) and Ralph Ward (Department for Communities and Local Government) talked about the area’s character and potential to evolve as a public landscape.
