Housing

Open House is developing a research programme on housing exploring with stakeholders and Londoners what quality of design means to them. Our research approach is informed by our Open House Exemplar programme working with planning councillors, and their responses and concerns for London’s housing.

Our research considers factors such as high density living, quality of public realm and different perceptions of design quality. We are also continuing to research exemplars for the public realm where artists have helped to make more meaningful places and engage with residents.

Mapping existing successful schemes in London, both public and private sector, is informing our research. Open House London also includes many housing exemplars to be experienced at first hand.
